Amman: The Jordan Valley Authority (JVA) has inaugurated a new automated irrigation and fertigation station operated by Medjool Village Company for agricultural lands in the Shouna/Al-Karameh region. The opening ceremony was attended by the company's director, Jude Nabulsi, alongside key stakeholders and agricultural industry experts.
According to Jordan News Agency, Secretary-General of the Authority, Eng. Hisham Al-Haisha, highlighted that the project reflects a shift toward modernizing the agricultural sector through advanced technologies. He noted that smart irrigation systems are increasingly being adopted by investors to enhance productivity while optimizing water and fertilizer use, aligning with sustainable agricultural development goals.
Al-Haisha described the station as a significant addition to agricultural infrastructure, utilizing advanced systems for precise management of irrigation and fertilization processes. He emphasized that these innovations contribute to improved crop quality and water-use efficiency, reinforcing the Authority's commitment to initiatives that advance the sector and improve resilience to future challenges.
He further added that integrating modern technologies into agricultural practices is essential for improving productivity and ensuring sustainable water resource management. He commended Medjool Village Company for adopting best practices and investing in innovative agricultural solutions.
Al-Nabulsi stated that the project is part of the company's broader strategy to modernize agricultural operations and embrace technological solutions that enhance efficiency and sustainability, consolidating its position in the agricultural sector. Participants were briefed on the station's operational model and the technologies it employs, designed to manage irrigation and fertilization with high precision, supporting improved agricultural output and efficient use of natural resources.
