Minister of Justice, Dr. Ahmed Ziyadat, on Wednesday participated in International Conference on the Recovery of Stolen Funds in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.
In a press statement, the ministry said this conference came after releasing a 2021 study by the Council of Arab Justice Ministers, entitled, “Recovering Looted Funds: How, Procedures and Means Available,” and the desire to highlight Arab and international expertise in fighting corruption and recover and harness these assets at the Arab and international levels.
This event, which was inaugurated by Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, aims to strengthen Arab-international cooperation and Arab League’s efforts to combat corruption and recover the looted funds, and table recommendations to Council of Arab Justice Ministers, in a bid to activate Arab cooperation protocols to facilitate fund recovery operations.
