Amman: Minister of Justice Bassam Talhouni on Sunday engaged in discussions with U.S. Ambassador to Jordan Jim Holtsnider to explore avenues for strengthening cooperation in legal and judicial domains between the two countries.
According to Jordan News Agency, Talhouni outlined the current agreements and joint cooperation between Jordan and the United States, emphasizing the significance of advancing their partnership in justice-related areas. He highlighted the importance of enhancing judicial cooperation and ongoing joint programs, acknowledging the United States’ supportive role in Jordan’s justice sector. This collaboration aligns with the government’s modernization vision as directed by His Majesty King Abdullah II.
The discussions also included opportunities to develop alternative dispute resolution mechanisms and the expansion of electronic tools within the judicial system. These initiatives aim to raise efficiency and improve service quality for citizens.
The meeting, attended by the Ministry’s Secretary-General for Judicial Affairs Judge Walid Kanakriyeh and Director of the International Cooperation Directorate Alia Assaf, concluded with both parties underscoring the necessity to maintain coordination and enhance judicial and legal cooperation for the benefit of both nations and their existing partnership.
