JTB Director General meets Mexican envoy

Director General of the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) Abdulrazzaq Arabiyat on Wednesday met with Mexico’s Ambassador to Jordan, Roberto Rodriguez-Hernandez, on ways to enhance cooperation in the tourism sector.

Arabiyat said that the Jordanian-Mexico relations have evolved, especially in the field of tourism, and the JTB has played a great role in exploring opportunities and cooperation mechanisms that would enhance tourism between Jordan and Mexico.

He highlighted the latest developments on the JTB’s programs to support the tourism sector.

For his part, the Mexican envoy commended the JTB’s efforts, which dealt successfully with the recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic through the rapid response and the adoption of strategies and programs that supported the tourism sector and enhanced Jordan’s tourism status.

He noted that the Mexican people view Jordan as a rich tourist destination in archaeological and religious sites, stressing his country’s interest in developing cooperation in order to facilitate the flow and exchange of tourism movement between the two countries.

Director of Media and Public Relations at the Mexican Embassy, Samer Al-Azza, In turn, voiced the embassy team’s support and readiness for any cooperation and coordination within the JTB’s directions that aim at f stimulating and promoting the tourism movement in both countries.

At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Rodriguez-Hernandez presented an honorary shield to the JTB and its administrative team in appreciation for the support it provided to Mexican tourists and for opportunities to activate tourism cooperation.
