London: The Jordan Tourism Board (JTB), in collaboration with the Jordanian Embassy in London, has initiated a series of workshops in London and Cambridge. The purpose of these workshops is to promote Jordan as a prominent destination for educational tourism and Arabic language learning.
According to Jordan News Agency, Abdul Razzak Arabiyat, Director General of the Jordan Tourism Board, highlighted this initiative as a strategic move to position Jordan as a prime location for students interested in learning Arabic and engaging with its cultural heritage. Arabiyat pointed out that Jordan offers an ideal environment for international students by merging high-quality education with rich cultural experiences.
Arabiyat stated, “The workshops aimed to highlight the academic programs offered by Jordanian universities, as well as the cultural and tourism opportunities that enhance the educational experience for students.” He further mentioned that the Tourism Board is actively building partnerships with UK academic institutions to attract international students.
The workshops garnered positive feedback from university and educational institution representatives, indicating a strong interest in Jordan’s academic offerings. These events demonstrated the potential benefits for students in experiencing an advanced educational environment alongside Jordan’s historical and cultural wealth.
Ambassador Manar Dabbas of the Jordanian Embassy in London reiterated that Jordan perceives international students as integral to the Jordanian community. He encouraged attendees to visit Jordan for a distinctive educational experience, underscoring the country’s significance as a hub of knowledge and cultural heritage.
Ambassador Dabbas remarked, “Jordan’s historical sites, such as Mount Nebo, the Cave of the Seven Sleepers, Petra, and Jerash, provide a unique backdrop for students to explore the intersection of education, history, and culture.”
Beyond the workshops, a second Ramadan event took place at Wimbledon Stadium. During this event, the Tourism Board distributed brochures to promote Jordan as an educational and cultural destination, aiming to strengthen Jordan’s presence in the British market and attract students to experience the nation’s academic and cultural offerings.
