JSMO Seizes Children’s Toys Violating Societal Values

Amman: Inspection teams from the Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO) in the northern region have seized a quantity of children's toys reported to contain content inappropriate for societal values, the organization said on Sunday.

According to Jordan News Agency, the action followed complaints lodged by citizens and circulated on social media platforms. JSMO told the agency that its inspection teams immediately launched intensive monitoring campaigns to trace the distribution sources of the toys.

The items were confiscated and held ahead of legal action under the Standards and Metrology Law No. 22 of 2000 and its amendments, the organization added.

JSMO said it is continuing its monitoring campaigns across the kingdom to ensure the markets remain free of such products as part of its role to protect consumers and strengthen market oversight.

The organization urged citizens to report any products suspected of non-compliance or violation of standing regulations via its complaint and WhatsApp hotline at 06/5301243, the "Bekhedmatkom" platform, or the "Sanad" mobile application. It added that public cooperation remains a cornerstone in supporting regulatory efforts and consumer protection.
