JPMC explores cooperation with Indonesia

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC), Muhammad Thneibat, and Indonesia’s Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo, have discussed the prospect of Jordan supplying Indonesia with raw phosphate and fertilizers.

In a meeting on the sidelines of the International Fertilizer Association’s annual conference, which began yesterday in the Austrian capital Vienna, Thneibat and the Indonesian minister agreed to explore the idea of establishing joint projects in Aqaba for the production of phosphate fertilizers with an output capacity ranging from 300,000 to 500,000 metric tons of the “NPK” fertilizer.

They also agreed to meet in Amman in two months to discuss the legal framework for the proposed partnership. Abdul Wahab Rawad, CEO of the Phosphate Mines Company, attended the meeting.
