Amman: The Jordanian-Palestinian Company for Marketing Agricultural Products (JPACO) has successfully exported 350 tons of peppers to Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic as part of its December 2024 trade initiatives, marking a significant step in its strategy to penetrate Eastern European markets.
According to Jordan News Agency, JPACO’s Director General, Abdul Halim Dugan, disclosed that these shipments were facilitated through pre-arranged agreements with farmers from the Jordan Valley. Dugan further announced the company’s intention to increase these export volumes substantially in the near future, highlighting JPACO’s commitment to expanding its agricultural trade footprint.
JPACO plays a crucial role in developing marketing channels for Jordanian and Palestinian agricultural produce both domestically and internationally. The company’s mission is to enhance the quality of these products, introduce advanced post-harvest technologies, and cultivate a competitive stance in the global marketplace, particularly in Eastern Europe and Gulf nations.
Dugan highlighted that these efforts are aimed at strengthening the national economies of Jordan and Palestine, supporting the sustainability of local farmers, and creating employment opportunities within their communities. The strategic export activities are seen as a means to bolster economic resilience and foster agricultural growth in the region.
Established in early 2022, JPACO is a collaborative venture between the Jordanian and Palestinian governments, with an initial capital investment of JD12 million. The leadership of the company alternates between the two nations biennially, reflecting its dual-national commitment and shared governance structure.
