Journalist Killed, Nine Injured in Gaza Amid Rising Toll on Media Professionals

Gaza: The Government Media Office in Gaza reported that the number of journalists killed in the Gaza Strip has reached 210 following an Israeli airstrike that targeted a journalists’ tent near Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza. The airstrike resulted in the death of journalist Hilmi al-Faqawi and injured nine other journalists in the vicinity.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Government Media Office strongly condemned what it described as the deliberate targeting and killing of Palestinian journalists by Israeli forces. It called on the International Federation of Journalists, the Federation of Arab Journalists, and media organizations globally to denounce what it termed systematic violations against journalists operating in the Gaza Strip.

The office’s statement further urged the international community and relevant international institutions to pursue legal action against such incidents in international courts. It highlighted the urgent need for effective international intervention to halt what it described as genocide, ensure the protection of journalists and media professionals, and prevent further targeting.
