Amman: Minister of Social Development Wafa Bani Mustafa emphasized the critical role of the non-profit sector in providing essential services to underprivileged social groups in Jordan, asserting their deserving high protection and care. Bani Mustafa reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to empowering Jordan’s charitable organizations to ensure the sustainability of their programs and services.
According to Jordan News Agency, the minister’s remarks were made during a field visit to the Families and Friends Society of Persons with Disabilities (FFSPD) in Amman. Bani Mustafa highlighted the importance of services provided to persons with disabilities, noting they are integral to national efforts to invest in the capabilities of this demographic.
The minister stressed that these initiatives aim to integrate beneficiary groups, facilitating self-reliance and enhancing their opportunities to enter the labor market, thus contributing to the achievement of development goals. She acknowledged the FFSPD as a pivotal organization offering services such as life skills development, rehabilitation, training, awareness, and guidance for persons with disabilities and their families.
Furthermore, the ministry aims to advance the FFSPD’s services, including early intervention initiatives in occupational, physical, speech, and community rehabilitation. Bani Mustafa expressed that these efforts will support the integration of persons with disabilities and enable the society to sustain its programs effectively.
