Jordan’s vehicle imports up by 10% during last May -Stakeholder

The total number of vehicles imported to the Kingdom increased during last May, up by 10% compared to April, statistics of General Association for the Automobile Dealers and Traders of Automobile Parts, showed.

The association’s head, Salama Atta Jabali, said the Kingdom imported 6,171 vehicles, during last May, worth about JD81 million.

In a statement on Thursday, Jabali said the imports included 2,030 gasoline-run vehicles, 1,435 others were electric-powered, while 1,269 were hybrid.

According to the statistical study, the Kingdom imported 5,579 vehicles during last April, with a total value of JD71 million.

Meanwhile, he said the Kingdom’s tire imports stood at nearly JD6 million during last May, marking an increase of 48%, compared to April.

The volume of last May’s vehicle battery batteries amounted to JD2.4 million, an increase of 18%, compared to a month earlier, he noted.
