The Kingdom’s tourism revenues recorded an increase of about $273 million in November 2021, compared with the same month of last year, reaching $331.5 million.
The hike is attributed to the high number of tourists during last November, who increased by 253 thousand to reach 302k, according to Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) data.
The tourism income by the end of November went up by 78.5% to reach $2.4 billion, as a result of the increase in the tourists’ numbers by 78%, reaching 2.109 million in the month, the CBJ said.
Meanwhile, non-resident Jordanians comprised 42.4 per cent of the total tourism revenues, followed by income from Arab countries at 28.2%, and then visitors from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries with 14.6%, the bank’s figures showed.
