Jordan’s Stationery Market Well Supplied as School Season Approaches

Amman: Jordan's stationery market is well supplied with a wide range of products and quantities, while prices for most items remain stable compared with the previous period, president of the Stationery, Bookshops and Office Equipment Traders and Manufacturers Association, Mohammad Hujeir, said on Tuesday.

According to Jordan News Agency, Hujeir noted that markets had ample supplies of various types of stationery and that prices for most products had not increased. He mentioned that while purchasing activity remains weak, it is expected to improve after salaries are paid, particularly with the approaching back-to-school season.

The bookstores and stationery sector faces a growing challenge during the school season from other businesses entering the stationery market. Hujeir highlighted that clothing stores, household goods shops, and variety stores are selling large quantities of stationery products, which adds competition.

Public and private schools across Jordan are scheduled to begin the 2026/2027 academic year in late August. In anticipation of this, bookstores and stationery shops are preparing for one of the sector's most important commercial seasons.
