Amman: Jordan’s SOS Children’s Villages has launched a significant campaign for World Children’s Day under the slogan “We Are Their Support,” aimed at rallying societal support for children and youth lacking family support to ensure their safety and opportunities for a better future.
According to Jordan News Agency, the association announced that the campaign seeks to inspire individuals and institutions to engage in actions with meaningful impacts. Donations are a critical component, designed to provide comprehensive care for children and youth without family support within Jordan.
The campaign is utilizing various platforms for outreach, including social media, billboards, digital street screens, and information booths in shopping malls to increase awareness and encourage donations. A key feature of the campaign is an open broadcast day on the “Hayat FM” radio station, scheduled for Sunday, to engage listeners in the cause.
In an effort to bolster its mission, the association has integrated a robust framework supported by a system of approved legislation. This includes official religious rulings from the General Fatwa Department, which permit the use of zakat, charity, fidyah, and sponsorship funds for supporting children and youth without family support. These rulings provide a religiously sanctioned pathway for individuals to contribute zakat and charity with assurance, directly benefiting those in need of sustained care.
The campaign offers multiple secure and accessible donation channels. Contributions can be made via the SOS Children’s Villages website, e-Fawateercom, CLIQ service using the alias SOSJORDAN, and digital wallets like Zain Cash, Orange Money, and Umniah. Additionally, bank transfers are facilitated through the Jordan Islamic Bank and Housing Bank, or Al-Alawneh Exchange branches. Direct donations are also accepted at the association’s offices in Shmeisani, Amman Village in Tabarbour, Irbid Village, and Aqaba Village, or via WhatsApp at 0799541600.
