Amman: Jordan’s olive oil production has experienced a notable decline in the 2025 season, according to the Department of Statistics (DoS). In its second monthly report, the DoS detailed that the country’s olive oil output reached 9,124 tons by November 25, 2025. This figure falls short when compared to the average production of 14,845 tons recorded from 2012 to 2025 during the same period.
According to Jordan News Agency, the DoS report highlights that November’s production accounted for 61.5% of the monthly average and constituted 60.6% of the total from the beginning of the season until the end of November. Overall, the seasonal average was only 42.3% met, marking a decrease compared to previous years. The report also notes a reduction in the volume of olives processed, with only 53,500 tons entering the Kingdom’s presses by the end of November, compared to 221,000 tons in the previous year, representing a 24% drop.
The department’s report further elaborates that it oversees the olive oil quantities produced in Jordan’s 152 olive presses until the season’s end. This data is the result of an annual field survey conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture. The survey aims to provide accurate data on olive oil production to inform citizens and farmers and assist in making informed agricultural decisions and policies.
