Amman: Jordan’s industrial production index saw a 1.8% rise in the first half of 2025, reaching 87.77 points, compared to 86.21 during the same period last year, as reported by the Department of Statistics on Tuesday.
According to Jordan News Agency, the manufacturing sub-index experienced a growth of 1.92%, and electricity production saw an increase of 3.04%. However, the mining and quarrying sector recorded a decline of 2.47%.
In June, the industrial production index increased by 0.43% year-on-year, reaching 90.07 points. This growth was supported by a 0.97% rise in manufacturing output and a 2.68% increase in mining and quarrying, which compensated for a 9.30% decrease in electricity production.
On a month-to-month comparison, industrial output grew by 2.31% from May. This growth was driven by a 2.16% rise in manufacturing, a 0.58% increase in mining and quarrying, and a notable 6.14% surge in electricity output.
