Jordan evacuating 69 nationals from Gaza, says foreign ministry spokesperson
The spokesman for the Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Sufyan Qudah, said Monday that the Ministry is carrying out an evacuation operation through its embassy in Cairo for Jordanians stranded in embattled Gaza. Qudah explained that an evacuation is now underway for 69 Jordanians in the besieged enclave, who were allowed to leave today through the Rafah crossing with Egypt, adding that the Jordanian embassy staff in Egypt is receiving them at Egypt’s side of the crossing. The ministry staff is providing the Jordanian evacuees with medical assistance and repatriating them “as quickly as possible,” noting that the number of Jordanian citizens residing and present in Gaza and registered on the Ministry’s lists has reached 640.
