Jordanian-Syrian Economic Preparatory Committee Convenes in Amman

Amman: The preparatory committee for the Jordanian-Syrian Joint Ministerial Economic and Trade Committee convened on Monday in Amman. The committee is headed by Dana Zoubi, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, and Basil Abdul Aziz Abdul Hanan, Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade of Syria.

According to Jordan News Agency, the committee discussed strategies to enhance trade exchange between the two countries and addressed challenges hindering the flow of goods. The committee finalized its recommendations, which will be presented to the Jordanian-Syrian Joint Ministerial Committee during its upcoming session in Amman on Tuesday.

The joint committee will be chaired by Yarub Qudah, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, and Mohammad Shaar, Minister of Economy and Trade of Syria. Both parties are optimistic that the outcomes of these meetings will bolster economic, trade, and industrial relations, as well as cooperation in areas such as transport, agriculture, industrial cities, food, pharmaceuticals, and standards and specifications.
