Amman: Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Hunaiti, on Monday welcomed Lebanese Army Commander General Rodolphe H©lou and his accompanying delegation during an official visit to Amman. A military reception was held in honor of the visiting commander, who reviewed the guard of honor upon arrival.
According to Jordan News Agency, during the meeting, attended by senior officers of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral military cooperation, particularly in the areas of training and capacity building. They also exchanged views on regional and international developments of mutual interest and addressed ongoing security challenges in the region.
Hunaiti and H©lou received several briefings outlining the scope of current bilateral cooperation and prospects for expanding and deepening it across various military domains. Discussions focused on enhancing coordination and sharing expertise to advance the defense interests of both nations.
Major General Hunaiti emphasized the strategic partnership between the Jordanian and Lebanese armed forces, underscoring the importance of continued collaboration to develop military capabilities and improve operational readiness. For his part, General H©lou expressed appreciation for the professionalism and discipline of the Jordan Armed Forces, lauding their key role in promoting regional security and stability, as well as their contributions to humanitarian efforts in several fields.
At the end of the visit, the Lebanese army chief signed the guestbook reserved for dignitaries.
