Jordanian Industrial Establishments Receive Sustainability Training

Amman: About 20 Jordanian industrial establishments have participated in a specialized training program focusing on decent work and sustainability empowerment. Jordan River Foundation (RJF), in collaboration with Nexus, a sustainability solutions company, conducted the training to support the industrial sector.

According to Jordan News Agency, the initiative is part of the "Enhanced Self-Reliance for Syrian Refugees and Host Communities" project, funded by the European Regional Development and Protection Programme for Jordan and Lebanon (RDPP III). The project aims to promote fair, safe, and sustainable work environments in the industrial sector, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 8, which emphasizes decent work and economic growth.

The program's design was based on consultative dialogues that identified the needs and aspirations of the participating industrial entities. These dialogues aimed to empower establishments to adopt decent work practices in a practical and sustainable way. Approximately 20 entities from the food, pharmaceutical, and chemical sectors took part in the training sessions.

The training focused on equipping workers with practical skills related to the environmental sustainability framework and emphasized the importance of social diversity management and equal opportunities as key components for promoting decent working conditions. It also covered the integration of these concepts into factory policies and procedures to enhance compliance with national legislation and international standards.

This initiative is part of RJF's broader efforts to build effective partnerships and reinforce its role as a national institution supporting the private sector and developing sustainable work environments in Jordan. The program contributes to achieving national Sustainable Development Goals and supports self-reliance for host communities and refugees.
