Jordanian-European Parliamentary Friendship Association condemns Israeli aggressions

Chairman and members of the Jordanian-European Parliamentary Friendship Association on Monday expressed their “grave concern” about the violence that took place in occupied East Jerusalem, which was carried out by extremist Jewish groups targeting the Palestinian brothers living in the Old City of East Jerusalem, which resulted in the injury of dozens of Palestinian civilians.

“The Israeli plans to evacuate the homes of the citizens of Jerusalem and impose Israeli sovereignty over them constitute a violation of the decisions of international legitimacy, and undermine the chances of reviving the peace process to achieve security and stability of the region,” an association statement quoted its Chairman MP Khaldoun Hina as saying.

“We strongly condemn the Israeli aggression that targets Palestinian civilians and the freedom of worship for the Palestinian people and the position of Al- Haram Al- Sharif (Noble Sanctuary) in Al-Aqsa Mosque throughout the month of Ramadan,” the statement added.

The association also expressed its appreciation of efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah, in defending the Palestinian cause and the rights of its people and establishing an independent Palestinian state with full sovereignty, with Jerusalem as its capital.

It called on all friendly countries and their parliaments in the world to assume their responsibility in order to stop this aggression and protect the Palestinian people.
