Rome: The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB), in cooperation with the Jordanian Embassy in Rome, hosted a reception to celebrate the 80th Independence Day of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, according to a statement issued on Wednesday.
According to Jordan News Agency, the event was held under the patronage of Jordan's Ambassador to Italy, Qais Abu Daieh. It was attended by Ambassador Maurizio Greganti, director of the Middle East directorate at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who represented the Italian minister of foreign affairs and international cooperation.
The gathering also brought together members of the Italian Senate and Chamber of Deputies, Italian members of the European Parliament, representatives of major Italian political parties, and the chairman and members of the Tourism and Antiquities Committee of the Jordanian Lower House of Parliament.
Representatives from Italian tourism, industrial, and commercial sectors attended the reception, alongside officials from chambers of commerce and industry, the Italian-Arab Chamber of Commerce, members of the Arab and foreign diplomatic corps, and directors and staff of Rome-based United Nations agencies. Members of the Jordanian expatriate community in Italy were also present.
Ambassador Abu Daieh highlighted Jordan's national achievements and the ongoing modernization and development process led by His Majesty King Abdullah II, while praising the deep bilateral relations connecting Jordan and Italy.
The reception featured a variety of cultural activities, including a fashion show presented as part of Jordan Fashion Week that showcased traditional Jordanian attire. The event also included a bazaar displaying traditional Jordanian products, complemented by promotional brochures detailing Jordan's diverse tourism attractions.
