London: The Jordanian community in the United Kingdom organized celebrations in four British cities to commemorate the Kingdom's 80th Independence Day.
According to Jordan News Agency, the event, organized by the Jordanian Forum in Britain, spanned two days and attracted hundreds of community members and friends of Jordan. The celebrations took place in London, Manchester, Nottingham, and Birmingham, each venue filled with a national atmosphere that highlighted the pride Jordanians feel for their homeland and their enduring connection to their Jordanian identity.
The celebration venues were decorated with Jordanian flags and traditional dress, creating a scene that embodied the joy and allegiance of participants. In a press statement, Dalal Jibril, head of the Jordanian Forum, noted that the significant turnout for the events demonstrated the eagerness of Jordanians in the UK to engage in national events. The events served to strengthen social and cultural ties and reaffirm pride in Jordan and its Hashemite leadership.
Jibril also mentioned that the celebrations coincided with Eid al-Adha, bringing together a wide turnout from various British cities in a family-oriented atmosphere. The success of the celebrations, she stated, reflects the forum's growing role in reinforcing connections among community members. This year's inclusion of new cities was a response to the interest shown by Jordanians in the UK to actively participate in national and social activities.
