Amman: Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan on Wednesday reaffirmed Jordan’s resilience in the face of mounting regional instability, declaring: “We stand strong– grounded in our leadership, our people, our armed forces, and our security institutions.”
According to Jordan News Agency, the Prime Minister addressed the Cabinet session in Balqa Governorate, emphasizing the Kingdom’s enduring strength. He articulated that Jordan has been built by persevering through fierce challenges, relying on the wisdom of its Hashemite leadership and the steadfast resolve of its people.
Speaking before elected officials from across the governorate, he underscored that crises will not deter the government from fulfilling its responsibilities to the people. He assured that Jordan remains committed to its role in safeguarding national security and stability.
The Prime Minister highlighted that Jordan has faced numerous strategic and external security challenges over the decades, which have only strengthened the nation. He noted that Jordan’s internal solidarity and leadership have helped it avoid the chaos and conflicts affecting other regions.
Addressing the Palestinian cause and Israel’s war on Gaza, the Prime Minister lamented the world’s seeming neglect of Gaza amidst escalating casualties. He called for an end to Israeli actions against Palestinians and stressed the importance of supporting Palestinian resilience.
He credited His Majesty King Abdullah II with playing a pivotal role in rallying the international community for a just solution to the Palestinian issue, warning of continued regional vulnerability without it.
The government, he asserted, is determined to implement plans to mitigate current challenges, focusing on energy alternatives, food reserves, and supply chains. The Prime Minister announced upcoming measures to support affected sectors.
In education, the Prime Minister announced new school construction projects and emphasized the government’s commitment to teachers’ development, including increased university admission slots for teachers’ children and discounted housing plots.
He highlighted ongoing development projects in Balqa Governorate, including significant investments in the water sector, and celebrated progress in healthcare infrastructure.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed the importance of field visits to ensure accountability and service delivery, emphasizing the government’s commitment to executing programs in various sectors.
On political modernization, he discussed ongoing efforts to improve local administration legislation to enhance governance.
Concluding his remarks, the Prime Minister expressed confidence in Jordan’s future, citing the resolve of its leadership, institutions, and people as key to continued progress and achievement.
