Jordan sees 9 COVID-19 fatalities, 311 new infections

The Ministry of Health announced that 9 Covid-19 fatalities and 311 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Saturday, bringing the death toll 9,656 and the caseload to 745,978.

There are currently 6,659 active COVID-19 cases in Jordan, announced the media statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health.

The statement added that the number of hospitalizations today stood at 58, while 44 patients have recovered and discharged.

Moreover, the number of Covid-19 patients still receiving treatment at hospitals countrywide has reached 470.

According to the briefing, the occupancy of the ICU bed capacity has hit 11 percent, 26 percent, and 5 percent, in the northern, central, and southern regions, respectively.

With regard to testing, 15,240 tests were conducted today, 2.04 percent of which were positive.

Since March, 2020, the total number of tests administered has increased to 7,657,848, the statement noted.

The statement added that 2,043,855 people received the first Covid-19 vaccine dose countrywide, while the tally of 2nd jab recipients hit 870,480, noting 3,010,396 people have so far registered on the gov’t platform designed to arrange schedule of vaccine rollout.
