Amman: Minister of Transport Nidal Katamine emphasized the critical need for enhanced collaboration among airport operators to improve operational efficiency, bolster the competitiveness of the civil aviation sector, and reinforce Jordan's status as a regional hub for air transport and logistics services.
According to Jordan News Agency, the remarks were made during a meeting on Tuesday with key figures including Airport International Group (AIG) Chairman Nicolas Devilliers, Vice Chairman of the Board of Jordan Airports Company and CEO of Royal Jordanian Samer Majali, and CEO of Jordan Airports Company Ahmad Azzam. The meeting, attended by Ministry of Transport Secretary-General Fares Abu Dayyeh, focused on discussing strategies to boost cooperation and integration among airport operators within the Kingdom.
Minister Katamine reiterated the ministry's commitment to backing initiatives that aim to advance the civil aviation sector and forge stronger partnerships with the private sector. These efforts are in alignment with international best practices to ensure sustainability and operational efficiency.
The discussions centered on developing mechanisms for collaborative airport management and operations, sharing technical and operational expertise, and exploring opportunities for integration among Jordanian airports.
