Jordan Securities Commission Launches Financial Legislation Exam for 39 Candidates

Amman:A new session of the financial legislation exam was initiated by Chairman Imad Abu Haltam at the Jordan Securities Commission (JSC) headquarters, involving 39 candidates. These candidates include employees and individuals aiming to engage in financial services activities within the local and foreign markets.

According to Jordan News Agency, the exam's governance is under continuous review to ensure its comprehensive development. This includes reorganizing question preparation, methodology refinement, and the review and approval process to meet standards of accuracy and objectivity. The JSC is also enhancing procedures for exam applications, organization, and result evaluations to promote integrity, transparency, and efficiency.

The financial legislation exam is crucial in assessing candidates' understanding of legislation, regulations, and instructions pertinent to the capital market. It verifies their professional knowledge necessary for practicing financial services in line with legal and regulatory frameworks.

The commission is committed to advancing its examinations and professional certification system by implementing specialized programs. This effort aims to elevate legislative and regulatory knowledge, foster a culture of compliance and governance, and support the Jordanian capital market's growth.

Updates to the examination system signify a qualitative shift towards a more organized and effective framework, aligning with capital market developments and best practices. This ensures a more accurate and fair assessment of candidates' knowledge and professional competence.

The financial legislation exam complements exams offered by the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI), covering various levels such as securities introduction, risk in financial services, and cash fundamentals. Successful candidates can apply for certification as compliance officers, investment managers, issuance managers, custodians, financial advisers, or investment trustees through licensed financial services companies, with a pass rate of 59%.
