Amman: King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief), in collaboration with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), has unveiled the 2025 Food Security Project, targeting the distribution of 500 tonnes of dates to vulnerable Jordanian families and Palestinian refugees in every governorate.
According to Jordan News Agency, JHCO’s Secretary-General, Hussein Shibli, stated that the project builds upon previous joint food initiatives with Saudi KSRelief. In the previous year, 2,000 tonnes of dates were distributed, benefiting approximately 1,512,000 individuals from underprivileged Jordanian families and Palestinian refugees nationwide.
Shibli further explained that the 2025 project aims to reinforce the impact achieved in earlier initiatives, emphasizing food security as a key humanitarian and developmental priority. He praised the strong humanitarian cooperation between Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
KSRelief Director Jordan office, Nayef bin Saleh Al-Shammari, indicated that this initiative is part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to support food security and improve living conditions for the targeted groups. The distribution will span all governorates and refugee camps through accredited partner organizations to ensure aid reaches the intended beneficiaries.
The distribution operations are coordinated with the Ministry of Social Development and the National Aid Fund to identify Jordanian beneficiary families. Efforts are also made with the Department of Palestinian Affairs to ensure aid reaches Palestinian refugees in the Kingdom, ensuring fairness and accuracy in the distribution process.
