Amman: Speaker of the Lower House of Representatives, Ahmed Safadi, on Sunday received the Saudi Ambassador to Jordan, Nayef bin Bandar Al-Sudairy, on the occasion of the end of his tenure. The two sides stressed the “deep-rooted” bilateral relations under the two kingdoms’ leaderships, according to a House statement.
According to Jordan News Agency, during the meeting, Safadi emphasized the House’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its rejection of any practices and statements that harm the Arab Gulf kingdom’s people. Safadi articulated that the security of Jordan and Saudi Arabia is indivisible, extending thanks and appreciation to Saudi Arabia for its stance against proposals to displace Palestinians to Jordan and Egypt.
Safadi also expressed strong disapproval of statements made by the Israeli Prime Minister regarding Saudi Arabia, describing them as violations of international law. He called on Arab and international parliaments to condemn these statements and take clear positions in their rejection.
Meanwhile, the Saudi envoy affirmed his country’s support for Jordan in opposing calls to displace Palestinian people. He highlighted the importance of unifying efforts to defend Palestinian rights and establish an independent state with full sovereignty.
Concluding the meeting, Safadi valued the Saudi ambassador’s efforts during his tenure to enhance bilateral relations. The envoy also expressed gratitude to His Majesty King Abdullah II, as well as to all Jordanian officials and people, for their warm reception during his service as Saudi ambassador to Jordan.
