Jordan reports first case of monkeypox

The Ministry of Health, on Thursday, has detected Jordan’s first case of monkeypox in a man in his thirties who traveled to a number of European countries and returned to the Kingdom on August 20, 2022.

The ministry, in a statement, said that the man is in good conditions and has been isolated at his house, adding that the contacts of the patient are being monitored according to the accredited health procedures.

The ministry said that it will continue to follow up on monkeypox disease and transparently announce about any cases that are detected, indicating its readiness and ability to deal with any development of the disease.
