Amman:Senate President Faisal Fayez has reaffirmed Jordan's firm stance in supporting Yemen's legitimacy, security, and territorial unity under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II. This commitment was expressed during a meeting with Yemeni Foreign and Expatriates Minister Afrah Abdulaziz Zouba, with the Yemeni Ambassador to Jordan, Jalal Faqira, also in attendance.
According to Jordan News Agency, Fayez emphasized Jordan's solidarity with the Yemeni government amidst ongoing attacks by the Houthi militia. He condemned Iranian interventions, including proxy attacks on Jordan, the Arab Gulf states, and Yemen, asserting Jordan's rejection of such actions.
The discussions also touched upon the importance of enabling the Yemeni government to regain control over all its territories. Fayez highlighted King Abdullah II's address to the UN General Assembly, which underscored the international community's responsibilities in maintaining regional security and stability, upholding international law, and halting violations.
Minister Zouba expressed gratitude for Jordan's continued support for Yemen and its people, acknowledging the King's efforts to resolve regional conflicts, unify Arab nations, and defend Arab causes. She reiterated Yemen's dedication to strengthening and maintaining relations with Jordan for mutual benefit.
