Jordan Promotes Food Industry Exports at “Food Expo 2026” in Damascus

Damascus: Chairman of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq officially opened the Jordanian pavilion at the 21st edition of the Arab International Food Industries and Packaging Exhibition "Food Expo 2026," held at the Damascus Exhibition City in Syria.

According to Jordan News Agency, the five-day event brings together around 300 companies from Syria, the Arab region, and abroad, serving as a platform to showcase food products, attract investment, and build new trade partnerships. The exhibition features a wide variety of food-related sectors, including edible oils, grains, pasta, dairy products, cheese, confectionery, baby food, meat products, beverages, poultry, and fish, in addition to packaging materials, production inputs, and food processing equipment.

Jordan is represented by 20 companies operating in the food production and packaging industries, with the goal of expanding the reach of Jordanian products in Syrian and regional markets and connecting with potential importers and distributors. In remarks issued by the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, Al-Haj Tawfiq described the participation, organized by International Promoters company for marketing and organizing exhibitions (IPCO), as an important step toward strengthening economic relations between Jordan, Syria, and other participating countries.

He highlighted that Syria represents a natural market for Jordanian goods, and that the return of specialized trade exhibitions in Damascus provides new opportunities for private-sector cooperation and the rebuilding of commercial and investment ties. He added that Jordan's food sector is known for its quality and competitiveness across Arab markets, and that participation in such events helps companies explore export opportunities and expand regional cooperation.

Al-Haj Tawfiq also stressed the importance of continued coordination with Syria in key sectors such as food industries, packaging, transport, and logistics. General Manager of IPCO Raed Abu Saada noted that Jordan's participation aims to support the presence of Jordanian industries in regional exhibitions and to help companies promote their products and establish new business partnerships.
