Hamoud:Amman The Jordan Press Association (JPA) has issued a strong condemnation of a terrorist attack in the Karak Governorate, targeting residents during a funeral at a local church in Hamoud. The attack, which occurred following prayers, was described by the association as a heinous act that violates religious, humanitarian, and national values.
According to Jordan News Agency, the JPA emphasized that the crime was not merely an attack on a specific town or group but an assault on all of Jordan, affecting both Muslims and Christians. The association highlighted that the attack aimed to destabilize the Kingdom's security and national unity, challenging the country's longstanding model of coexistence.
The JPA affirmed that Jordan's national unity, supported by the solidarity and patriotism of its people, would not be shaken by such acts. It stated that terrorists would fail in their attempts to spread fear or disrupt the mutual trust and national principles of Jordanians. The association expressed its confidence in the security agencies' capability to apprehend those responsible and ensure they face justice.
Furthermore, the JPA urged citizens and media outlets to act responsibly, rely on official sources for information, and avoid spreading rumors or unverified news that could mislead the public or affect the investigation. The association called for patience until official statements are released to clarify the details of the crime.
The JPA extended condolences to the families of the victims, offering prayers for mercy upon the deceased and a quick recovery for the injured.
