Jordan’s Audit Bureau (AB) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Polish Supreme Audit Office (SAO), aimed to enhance joint cooperation, raise professional competencies in the financial monitoring and auditing fields, and focus on exchanging expertise, in accordance with the “best” international standards and practices.
During his visit to Poland, AB President, Dr. Radi Hamadin, said the memo is a “strategic” step to enhance the performance of the two countries’ audit authorities.
According to the AU statement Wednesday, he noted the memo aims to conduct a “peer review,” which is one of the best practices globally that will be implemented for the first time in the Jordanian auditing body’s history.
Hamadin added that this step is “important” to assess AU’s performance and the extent of its procedures’ alignment with international standards, which contributes to raise efficiency of the auditing operations.
Hamadin stated that the cooperation also seeks to implement joint training programs, foc
using on “vital” areas, primarily monitoring achievement of sustainable development goals, climate change, and training on use of artificial intelligence in audit operations.
For his part, SAO Head, Marian Bana?, said the memo contributes to enhance joint cooperation, especially in the areas of training and expertise exchange, stressing the importance of cooperation in international forums to achieve common goals.
Also during the visit, Hamadin was briefed on the approved training mechanisms and programs for auditors at the SAO-affiliated training institute, in addition to visiting Polish Ministry of Justice to learn about ways of coordination, with the Polish SAO in dealing with audit reports and cases referred to the judiciary.
The statement said the agenda also featured a visit to the SAO branch in the city of Gydansk, to learn about the work mechanism and enhance joint cooperation, as well as field experiences that affect the citizens’ lives.
