Jordan Phosphate Mines Company and Kazakhstan Embassy Discuss Phosphate Industry Collaboration

Amman: Chair of the Board of Directors of the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC), Mohammad Thneibat, met with Talgat Shaldinbay, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan, to discuss expanding cooperation in the phosphate fertiliser industry. The meeting took place on Sunday at JPMC’s offices.

According to Jordan News Agency, Thneibat emphasized JPMC’s commitment to fostering economic and investment cooperation with Kazakh companies in the phosphate sector. He expressed the company’s readiness to expand partnerships and implement joint projects that would enhance the mining sector’s contribution to the economies of both countries.

Thneibat highlighted JPMC’s alignment with the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II to promote and attract investment. He noted that JPMC is open to global markets and aims to diversify its partnerships while increasing its presence and competitiveness in the global fertiliser market. He provided an overview of the company’s achievements in production, export, strategic plans, and its vision for expanding into downstream industries.

Thneibat reiterated JPMC’s willingness to support Kazphosphate Company in investing in phosphate ore in Kazakhstan and establishing partnerships that cater to the Kazakh market and neighboring countries. He encouraged the Kazakh side to develop a timeline for implementing the meeting’s outcomes within the framework of joint cooperation.

Ambassador Shaldinbay praised the strong relations between Jordan and Kazakhstan, expressing Kazakhstan’s eagerness to develop a fruitful partnership with Jordan. He mentioned his country’s readiness to facilitate a visit by a Kazakh delegation to explore cooperation opportunities with JPMC and tour its production facilities.

The ambassador commended Jordan’s capabilities in phosphate fertiliser production and application, describing his visit as conducive to deepening joint cooperation. Both sides agreed on the importance of strengthening communication between relevant companies in the two countries, particularly between JPMC and Kazakhstan’s Kazphosphate Company, to identify future cooperation areas.

The meeting also explored leveraging Jordanian expertise and modern technologies in phosphate processing and production projects, along with the potential expansion of initiatives between JPMC and Kazakh companies, including the possibility of joint ventures.
