Amman: The Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company (JPRC) has participated in the 2026 National Cybersecurity Exercise, testing its ability to respond to cyberattacks and safeguard critical digital and operational systems.
According to Jordan News Agency, the exercise was organized by the National Cybersecurity Center and brought together institutions from various vital sectors to assess preparedness for potential cyber incidents and strengthen coordination during security threats. In a statement on Sunday, JPRC highlighted that its participation focused on testing the readiness of its technical and administrative teams, including their capacity to detect and respond to cyber incidents, manage crises, and restore systems following an attack.
The exercise featured practical scenarios simulating advanced cyberattacks, requiring participating teams to implement detection, response, and recovery procedures in line with national cybersecurity standards and established best practices. JPRC reported that the exercise also provided an opportunity to enhance coordination and communication among relevant entities during cyber incidents, an essential component of an effective response to threats that could affect operations and service continuity.
The company emphasized that its participation is part of broader efforts to reinforce cybersecurity across its digital assets and operational systems, meet National Cybersecurity Center requirements, and maintain preparedness for evolving cyber threats. JPRC is also continuing programs to upgrade its technology infrastructure and boost cybersecurity awareness across its operations, as part of its digital transformation endeavors.
