Jordan participates in Arab League’s Economic and Social Council meetings

A Jordanian economic delegation on Wednesday participated in the 110th session of meetings of the Economic and Social Council of the Arab League, chaired by Morocco, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League.

The council’s agenda included a number of economic and social issues that represent a priority for joint Arab economic and social action, as well as the preparation for the economic and social theme for the upcoming 31st Arab summit to be held in Algeria, and the preparation for the upcoming Arab Economic and Social Development Summit to be held in Mauritania.

The Assistant Secretary-General for Social Affairs, Ambassador Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, stressed the General Secretariat readiness in coordination with member states and joint Arab action organizations, to implement the council’s decisions, in a way that would reflect positively on the life of the Arab people.

She added that issues of joint Arab action organizations, Arab international cooperation in the social and development fields, and outcomes of the work of health, youth and sports ministers’ councils constitute an advanced priority in joint Arab development action.

The Jordanian delegation was chaired by Secretary-General of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply Dana Zoubi.
