Jordan participates in ALECSO regular session in Tunisia

Jordan on Wednesday participated in the 117th regular session of the Executive Council of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) in Tunisia.

The Kingdom was represented by member of the Jordan National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, Ebtisam Ayoub.

In the opening session, ALECSO Director-General, Mohamed Ould Amar, one of the key topics on the agenda is the budget and programs for the 2023/2024 financial cycle, which in its goals and objectives are aligned with the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

Ould Amar highlighted major activities and initiatives that were implemented during the past months, despite the Covid-19 pandemic. He also mentioned the launch of the Arab Programming Week in its second session, which saw a record number of participations.

For her part, Ayoub told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) correspondent that one of the key issues before the council is the situation in Jerusalem and the dangers threatening the holy city, in addition to the educational situation in Palestine and the draft Arab plan for education in emergencies and crises.
