Jordan oks transit of 2,500 Afghanis via its territory to US

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates announced Monday that Jordan agreed to transit 2,500 Afghan nationals through its territory on their way to the United States of America.

The decision was made for purely humanitarian reasons, as a contribution to addressing the repercussions of the crisis currently taking place in Afghanistan, the ministry’s spokesperson, Daifullah Al-Fayez, said.

He added that arrangements for the transit of Afghan nationals, who are evacuated, through Jordan and transferring them to it have been agreed upon with the United States.
