Jordan Launches Initiative to Digitize School Curricula Through “Ajyal” Platform

Irbid:The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development, has launched a new project aimed at digitizing school curricula for grades 1-12. This initiative, part of the "Youth, Technology, and Jobs" project, will be facilitated through the "Ajyal" (Generations) platform and is designed to provide interactive digital educational content, improve teaching and learning methods, and simplify access to educational materials for students and teachers alike.

According to Jordan News Agency, the project was announced during the inauguration of a state-of-the-art computer lab at Irhaba Comprehensive Secondary School for Girls in Irbid Governorate. The event was attended by key figures including Samira Zoubi, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, and Dr. Sahar Shakhatreh, Secretary-General for Educational Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development, along with representatives from partner organizations, companies, and members of the school's administrative and teaching staff and students.

The computer lab was established following the school's success in the public vote category of a "Minecraft" educational competition, receiving a fully equipped lab as a reward. This facility is expected to provide students with enhanced learning opportunities and aid in the development of their digital skills. During the visit, Zoubi and Shakhatreh inspected the lab and engaged with students and teachers, gathering feedback on the integration of technology and digital learning tools.

She highlighted the importance of developing digital skills curricula for grades 1-12 to enhance student competencies and better prepare them for the future. Zoubi also noted that these initiatives reflect the directives of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, who has consistently prioritized the enhancement of digital infrastructure and internet services in schools, particularly in the governorates.

Shakhatreh reiterated the critical role of teachers in the success of the digital transformation in education. She underscored the Ministry of Education's dedication to empowering teachers to effectively utilize technology and modern educational tools, which will enhance student capabilities and encourage motivation for learning and creativity.
