Amman: Jordan has introduced the 962.Games platform, a digital directory aimed at spotlighting the country’s burgeoning game development sector. The platform, developed with the support of the Jordan Gaming Lab, is designed to highlight the work of Jordanian game studios, independent developers, universities, and service providers, according to Founder and CEO of Maysalward, Nour Khrais.
According to Jordan News Agency, Khrais emphasized that the platform’s purpose is to promote Jordanian game development on both local and global stages. It offers an educational component by featuring academic programs related to game design, development, and extended reality technologies available at Jordanian universities. This initiative aims to strengthen the connection between the industry and education sectors, fostering collaboration within Jordan’s gaming ecosystem.
Khrais highlighted that the choice of “962” in the platform’s name reflects Jordan’s international dialing code, serving as a symbol of national identity. The platform also seeks to promote Jordan’s gaming industry at international exhibitions and conferences, ensuring that Jordanian companies have representation in global delegations and presentations.
He further noted that the inclusion of a robust lineup of active companies on the platform is crucial for attracting investment, securing government support, and achieving international recognition for Jordan’s game development industry. These efforts align with the Economic Modernization Vision, positioning Jordan as a regional hub for game development while enabling the Jordan Gaming Lab to showcase local talent and enhance global awareness of the industry.
