Amman: The Jordan Insurance Federation (JIF) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote insurance inclusion and risk financing. This strategic partnership is set to enhance technical and practical knowledge through specialized training programs tailored to address local market needs.
According to Jordan News Agency, this collaboration will also focus on training trainers and insurance sector professionals, equipping companies to meet customer needs innovatively and effectively. UNDP experts will train selected insurance sector trainers, chosen based on rigorous scientific criteria agreed upon by both parties. These trained professionals will then disseminate their knowledge throughout the sector.
The project, expected to last 9 to 12 months, will initially include four training courses. These courses will focus on designing customer-oriented insurance products, building inclusive partnerships, enhancing customer experience through marketing
and claims management, and developing internal capacities to deliver responsible insurance services. Trainers, under JIF’s guidance, will transfer this knowledge to Jordan’s insurance market and neighboring markets through ongoing training programs. These initiatives will target a wide range of sector employees and relevant governmental and economic institutions. The training programs will be diversified and enriched by leveraging the expertise of UNDP specialists to enhance and expand the market’s capabilities, offering innovative insurance products and services tailored to the needs of citizens, businesses, and small enterprises.
This initiative marks a significant step toward enabling families, farmers, and entrepreneurs to access innovative insurance solutions that strengthen their resilience to economic and social challenges. Through this agreement, JIF will intensify its collaboration with UNDP to support expert and trainer development and build technical capacities in the insurance sector.

ent was signed on behalf of JIF by its CEO, Muayyad Kloob, and on behalf of UNDP by Majda Al-Assaf, representing the UNDP Resident Representative in Jordan. The signing ceremony was attended by JIF’s Deputy CEO, department directors, and stakeholders from both parties.
