Jordan Explores Australian School Accreditation Systems

Amman:Jordan's Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions (AQACHEI) President, Dhafer Saraira, engaged in a virtual meeting on Monday with representatives from the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA). The discussion aimed to explore Australia's school registration, evaluation, and quality assurance frameworks.

According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting highlighted Victoria's regulatory frameworks, including school registration procedures, periodic compliance reviews, and complaint handling systems. Annie Tinney, VRQA Deputy CEO, elaborated on Victoria's standards covering infrastructure, emergency management, governance, financial management, student protection, teacher qualifications, and curriculum design.

In response, AQACHEI presented Jordan's proposed framework for school accreditation, which assesses institutional governance, teaching and learning quality, student welfare, human and physical resources, and educational outcomes to determine accreditation levels and durations. Both parties recognized the importance of international benchmarks in refining Jordan's school accreditation standards to better align with national legislation and the local context. They agreed to exchange regulatory documents, guidelines, and online resources to assist Jordan's ongoing review of education quality and to encourage future collaboration.
