Jordan Engages in Global Dialogue on Urban Financing at World Urban Forum.

Cairo: Director General of the Cities and Villages Development Bank, Osama Azzam, represented Jordan at the 12th World Urban Forum in Cairo, focusing on financing mechanisms for sustainable urban growth. Participants from various countries gathered to discuss strategies for funding urban projects that align with global sustainable development objectives.

According to Jordan News Agency, Azzam emphasized the importance of the forum’s opening session titled “Financing Future Cities: Integrating Investments to Promote Sustainable Development Goals.” This session centered on the mobilization of diverse funding sources to accelerate priority urban projects that contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In a subsequent session, “Financing the Future of Our Cities: A Collaborative Approach for Comprehensive and Sustainable Results,” discussions revolved around integrating various financial resources to tackle local challenges and support sustainable urban development. This session aimed to identify c
ollaborative financial strategies that could be employed to achieve comprehensive urban sustainability.

The forum also featured a session focused on e-governance and service automation, where participants explored the potential of digital solutions to enhance and accelerate the quality of public services. This dialogue highlighted the role of technology in improving governance and service delivery within urban environments.
