Jordan, Egypt talk cooperation on tourism

Jordan’s Ambassador to Egypt Amjad Adaileh and Egypt’s Tourism Minister Ahmed Issa Monday held a meeting in Cairo to discuss enhancing Jordan-Egypt tourism and archaeological cooperation.

Adaileh and Issa noted the depth of the “distinguished” Jordanian-Egyptian ties at the state and popular levels, noting the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation on tourism.

Adaileh congratulated Issa on assuming his post as Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, expressing his wishes that the coming period would witness more cooperation between the two countries at the tourism and archaeological levels.

He said that Egypt is “one of the first tourist destinations that Jordanians prefer to visit,” highlighting a twinning agreement between the cities of Luxor in Egypt and Petra in Jordan, signed last November.

The meeting emphasised the importance of following up on implementing the outcomes of HRH Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II’s visit to Egypt in November that witnessed the signing of an executive programme for cooperation between the Ministries of Tourism and Antiquities in Egypt and Jordan.
