Jordan Condemns Israeli Drone Strike on Vehicle in Syria

Amman: The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs condemned on Saturday an Israeli drone attack on a vehicle in the village of Beit Jinn in the western Damascus countryside, which injured several civilians.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Ministry labeled the attack as a blatant violation of the sovereignty, security, and stability of the Syrian Arab Republic, as well as a breach of international law and the UN Charter. Fouad Majali, the Ministry's spokesperson, called for an immediate halt to all recurrent Israeli actions that target Syria's security and stability.

Majali emphasized that such violations contravene Israel's obligations under the 1974 Disengagement Agreement and represent a dangerous escalation that could fuel conflict and tension in the region. He urged the international community to uphold its responsibility to compel Israel to cease these attacks, end its occupation of Syrian territories, and adhere to international law, UN resolutions, and the sovereignty of states.

He also reiterated Jordan's support for Syria in its reconstruction efforts, emphasizing the importance of principles that ensure Syria's unity, sovereignty, and the safety of its citizens while safeguarding the rights of all Syrians.
