Amman: The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs strongly condemned the Israeli forces’ incursion and shelling of the town of Koya, west of Daraa, Syria, which resulted in multiple deaths and injuries.
According to Jordan News Agency, the Ministry described the attack as a flagrant violation of international law, an infringement on Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and a dangerous escalation that threatens to fuel further conflict in the region.
Ministry spokesperson Sufian Qudah reaffirmed Jordan’s firm rejection of Israeli military actions on Syrian soil, emphasizing that such attacks constitute a clear violation of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement between Israel and Syria.
He also warned of the potential consequences of escalating regional tensions and reiterated Jordan’s unwavering support for Syria’s security, stability, and sovereignty.
