Amman:The Jordan Chamber of Industry has partnered with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) to launch an 18-month initiative aimed at enhancing occupational safety, health services, and tracking job and skills needs within the industrial sector.
According to Jordan News Agency, the "Skills, Occupations, Occupational Safety, and Health Services" project falls under the Employment in Jordan 2030 (EJ2030) program. The project is structured around two primary components.
The first component is dedicated to improving safety and health practices across industrial establishments, ensuring better workplace conditions and adherence to safety standards. The second component focuses on creating a jobs index to monitor employment trends and skills demands within the industrial sector, providing essential labor-market data for employers and relevant institutions.
This initiative is expected to aid in workforce and skills planning, offering insights for decision-making in response to evolving labor-market conditions. Additionally, the project seeks to establish sustainable services within the Jordan Chamber of Industry, thereby enhancing the industrial sector's ability to meet workforce needs.
