Jordan, Australia talk environment, agriculture technology cooperation

Environment Minister Muawieh Radaideh and the Australian Ambassador to Jordan, Bernard Lynch, Tuesday held a meeting in Amman to discuss cooperation on the environment and irrigation technology to reduce consumption.

The two sides discussed environmental cooperation, especially in the field of modern technologies to reduce the quantities of water required to irrigate crops, maintain moisture, increase production and dispense with chemical fertilisers through the use of plant and animal waste and food residue within a well-studied scientific mechanism, of which Australia has experience in.

Radaydah and Lynch agreed to hold a meeting in the future that would include the ministers of water and agriculture to explore options for implementing new irrigation technology in Jordan.
