Amman: The Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC) stated that Jordan's airspace remains fully safe for civil aviation operations following a recent information bulletin issued by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) regarding the Kingdom's airspace.
According to Jordan News Agency, CARC Chief Commissioner Daifallah Alfarajat indicated that the EASA bulletin serves as an advisory recommendation only, imposing no legal or operational obligations on airlines operating within Jordanian airspace. He emphasized that the Kingdom's airspace continues to function normally within the Amman Flight Information Region.
Alfarajat highlighted that CARC has implemented all necessary operational and security measures to mitigate risks, adhering to International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards and Jordan's national regulatory requirements. Furthermore, CARC maintains continuous coordination with regional and international partners, particularly the EASA and the ICAO, to uphold the highest aviation safety standards.
Airspace management and surveillance systems are under constant monitoring to ensure uninterrupted and efficient air navigation services, Alfarajat pointed out. Official CARC data indicated sustained aviation activity on July 21 and 22, reflecting stable operating conditions despite the European advisory.
Jordan's airports recorded 270 aircraft movements on July 21, including 136 arrivals and 134 departures, while 688 aircraft transited Jordanian airspace. Airport traffic slightly increased to 276 movements on July 22, with 142 arrivals and 134 departures. Overflights rose to 743 aircraft, marking an 8 percent increase from the previous day, underscoring the continued smooth and safe flow of international air traffic through Jordanian airspace.
The CARC urged media outlets to verify information through CARC as the official reference for aviation data to avoid relying on inaccurate or misleading sources.
